Healthy Stuff

Because of our "American Diets" and because our soil is so poor today, etc., most of us benefit from taking various nutritional supplements. Here is one of my favorites:
Vitamineral Green

http://www.healthforce.com/
Just take a look at a few of the ingredients in this product...it's very potent and powerful! I believe that we need to put good things in our body to help make up for the not-so-good things we put in it! I like to put some of this in some "Green Juice," like "Naked Juice," or "Odwalla."
This product is definitely a very good thing!;-)

Tonight, I made Paula Deen's White Bean Chili...I love it! To make it (and any other recipe) more healthy, try adding a little frozen spinach. Try adding some frozen spinach to your favorite recipes or your favorite spaghetti sauce...your family will never know it's there and they will benefit greatly!

Here's a tip I learned last week...try it and let me know if it works for you! If you have a craving for something you know you shouldn't eat, etc., try sniffing a little Peppermint Essential Oil or try brushing your teeth with Peppermint toothpaste! Peppermint often helps get rid of unhealthy cravings. Then, replace the unhealthy craving for a healthy one! You could also put a little of the Peppermint on a shirt collar and smell it when you get the craving throughout the day (hopefully it won't leave a stain). Try this and let me know if it works for you! I bought some Peppermint Essential Oil the yesterday with a friend, and I'm going to try it too!

Healthier Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
To add a little bit of "health" to boxed Macaroni and Cheese, try adding a bag of frozen, chopped broccoli to the boiling water...then, bring back to a boil and add your noodles and cook as normal. This way, you have the chopped broccoli in your Mac and Cheese. Plus, you will also have some of the nutrients from the broccoli cooked into the noodles. This is a great way to help finicky eaters
(husbands and children) eat their veggies! You could also get more adventurous and cut up some Kale very fine and throw it into the boiling water instead. Kale is extremely nutritious because it has calcium, fiber and much more!
If your family likes spicy food, you could add salsa to the Mac and Cheese, Ranch Style Beans...well, you get the idea...go crazy! Be creative!

You Can't Have Too Many Vegetables!
I once heard someone on TV ask a nutritionist, something to this effect: "Carrots contain more sugar than other vegetables. So, would it be unhealthy to eat too many carrots?" The answer stuck with me...the nutritionist responded, "I've never heard of anyone becoming obese from eating too many carrots!"
So, if you want to lose weight or just be more healthy, fill your stomach with lots of healthy, vegetables. You'll feel more full from the fiber and water content of many vegetables. The more you eat them, the more you'll like them! So, eat your veggies...and more of them! Enjoy!
